DaleDivas at Shottle Christmas Fair
We’re all very excited about hearing three members of UK singing sensations DaleDiva when they perform at our festive fair on Sunday.
Belinda Leicester, Julia Taylor and Louise Winfield will bring their close harmonies to bear on some of the best-loved Christmas carols when they appear as the trio Jubelous at our event.
Their appearance draws to a close a whirlwind few months for the three singers, who this year joined the ranks of Cromford-based barbershop choir DaleDiva, the winners of the 2010 national talent show Don’t Stop Believing.
The 40-strong outfit have themselves had a hectic 12 months following last year’s triumph, which was screened on Channel Five, with performances all around the country.
Julia, Belinda and Louise, who all live in Duffield, have already performed a number of dates with the choir, including its end-of-year show at Derby Theatre and at Loughborough University for Children in Need, live on BBC1, last Friday.
Belinda, a talented musician who used to play the piano to entertain Sunday diners here at Shottle Hall, said: “We have had a fantastic time with Dale Diva since joining in the summer. We have all learned their back catalogue and it’s terrific to be a part of such a successful and well-known choir.
“Appearing at Shottle Hall will be a lot of fun. We will be singing traditional carols and also some more traditional Andrews Sister songs, and I will be playing the piano at various points in the day too.”
And they might pick up a few Christmas presents at our free event too – we have a host of stalls selling jewellery, beauty products, food and other gift ideas. The fun starts at 11am!
