It will have come as no surprise to many people that Demi Moore has announced 

"with great sadness" the end of her six-year marriage to fellow actor Ashton Kutcher.

The Hollywood power couple's split follows reports in recent months of the Two and a Half Men star’s alleged infidelity.

The couple would often communicate on Twitter, broadcasting their relationship for the world to see.

Aside from the wide-eyed disbelief that accompanied their courtship in the first place, from the 16-year age gap to the fact that they spent so much time with Moore's ex, Bruce Willis, the couple seemed to be hopelessly in love.

Unlike the money-spinning Kardashians, Demi and Ashton seemed genuinely in love and their marriage was regarded as one of the strongest in Hollywood and a symbol of age-defying love.

Demi was already 42 when she married 27-year-old Ashton six years ago and she was perhaps the original cougar, giving hope to mature ladies everywhere!

She maintained a super-friendly relationship with her former husband Bruce Willis – he even attended the couple’s wedding in 2004. Perhaps now Demi will be able to rekindle her romance with the Die Hard star?
